Using GideonSoft: Navigation

Using GideonSoft

GideonSoft is a web-based software platform. To access GideonSoft on a computer (i.e. web site), open your preferred web browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) and go to the URL provided by your administrator. Enter your username and password to sign in, and you will see the Dashboard if you are a member of more than one active Instance. If you are a member of only one active Instance, the home page for that Instance will be displayed.

 

Main Header

Throughout the app, your user type will determine what content is displayed for you when you sign in (i.e. basic user vs. administrative user), so your screen may look slightly different. But, everyone can use the top header bar, which includes:

 

  • Location in the Org … This is where to access a drop down to jump to the Org, or any Module or Instance of which you’re a member.
  • Home button … To always jump back where you signed in.
  • A cross feature search … search surveys, observations, spreadsheets, people, reports, all in one place!
  • Feed (timeline) … This displays broadcast notifications, surveys that just became available, observations recorded about you, changes to your CPR position… all kinds of helpful updates.
  • Notifications … alerts appear here, especially critical for admins! (depends on your subscription settings)
  • Broadcast … To send a message or question to others in the Instance.
  • Links to access more features … wherever you are in your organization, this drop down provides access to all parts of GideonSoft: observations, surveys, reports & their designers; people; spreadsheets; schedule; all the data tools; and your personal settings and information!
  • My Profile & My Settings … access to your profile and settings (i.e. your photo, email, password, subscriptions, social networks); or sign out; or read all the “fine print”. (See Person Profile and My Settings)

 

 

The Dashboard

On your dashboard, you’ll see a section with key info for you (such as Notifications), Summary Badges available to you for quick reference data points, and interactive Dashboard widgets to check out before diving in deeper. (See Module Home page Dashboard)

Your Feed (Timeline)

The Timeline shows notifications for Surveys, Events, Broadcast messages or questions, reminders of Check Ins or Appraisals, and more. If you’re a supervisor, this is where you’ll be notified of Goals your subordinates have achieved, and they have requested you to verify.

The Instance Homepage

This is where most of the action takes place. As an assessor, you can see thumbnails of people in the Instance (with color-coded status; white background for active, gray background for inactive).

  • Quick Links … Customize your own set of links to quickly get to your most commonly used parts of GideonSoft. (See Using GideonSoft: Quick Links)
  • The Status bar contains all the task-specific sections that a user can access:
    • Click My Goals in the status bar to set Goals or record progress. (See Setting Goals)
    • Clicking the Schedule icon in the status bar navigates to the Calendar.
    • Available observations, surveys, reports and objectives, as well as counts of people with designated status (click to filter the thumbnails below!)
