Report Item: Data Grid
Displays a customizable table of data, populated by either static text or selected score variables (a specified, known number of variables; i.e. each cell is a data point). Use the Data Grid when you have a small number of score variables to display. A couple differences from the Detail Data Grid are the ability to display static data, and the arrangement of variables displayed can be (manually) pivoted either direction.
- Select how many columns (up to 4) are used for display.
- Text to display when no data is present (optional)
- Style … custom style your grid, or use “Behavior Style (tri-colored)” (resembles the Behavior List).
- Size … choose how large the grid should be, Medium by default.
Data Grid Options
- Show Variable Data … some additional options are available when showing Variable data.
- Conditional formatting … by using if/then logic to define rules, the display of a variable can be dynamically changed (different color or text, or an icon, etc).
- You can use a value or expression when setting a formatting rule. Use expressions only when you need to calculate or combine fields or constants.
- For example: ([Variable1] + [Variable2] * 100) / 3 or “The value is: ” + [Variable2].
- Text values must be surrounded in quotes.
- Numeric values will automatically be rounded to up to 4 decimals.
- If creating a string value (ie. tool tips), handle rounding within the expression.
- Expressions are not needed when using constants or static text.
- You can use a value or expression when setting a formatting rule. Use expressions only when you need to calculate or combine fields or constants.
- Wrap row headers … for longer header text.
- Row Header Width and Data Column Width can be specified, in pixels.
- Default Data Column Alignment … left, center, or right
- Select either Show Variable Data (to select and display specific variables) or Show Static Data (to enter static text/icons to display for all users), then you can define what data to include using Design Data Grid …
- Click on “Add Row” and “Add Column” to begin building out the grid (repeat as necessary). Then click on each “cell” to edit options:
- Select a score variable, link it to another report (optional), and apply conditional formatting (optional). If you don’t see the score variable you wish to add, and want to create one, click Create New Variable. See Quick Variable Creator.
- It works from the top left towards the right and downward. Each “cell” must have a variable selected before moving right or down.
- Add/modify the a title/label for the grid by clicking “Heading”. You can also link this heading to another report.
- Row and Column labels can be changed by clicking on them.
- Choose what to display by using Text and/or Icon (using https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/icons/, you can display any Font Awesome icons you like!).
- Format what is displayed by using Text Color, Background Color, and/or Css Class.
- When done, click the right arrow in the top, light blue bar.
- Choose to show spacing between cells or not.
- Choose to show the table border and customize the width and color.
- Conditional formatting … by using if/then logic to define rules, the display of a variable can be dynamically changed (different color or text, or an icon, etc).
