The Module is designed to be used one of two ways:

  • Assessing and developing your roster, team or staff. It’s essentially a container for the template from which all of Instances are built. This template contains all of the documents and settings that were configured for this course. When you create an Instance, any settings and configurations that exist at the Module level will be in that Instance. (Performance)
  • Recruiting new people, and determining whether they’d be a good fit. There are no Instances, and it’s designed to handle a larger number of people. (Persistent)

Settings

These are basic settings for the Module.

  • Module Name … Provide a short but meaningful name for the Module by clicking on the blue name, entering text and clicking the green check.
  • Module Purpose … This option can be useful in reporting and research. From the drop down, you can identify this Module’s intended purpose as one of the following options:
    • Performance … Typically used for selecting people, or developing and improving people that have already been selected within your organization. These are used for fewer people but more data collection.
    • Persistent … Have no start or end dates (i.e., no Instances) and are used for tracking a lot of people but with less data compared to the performance module. (This type can also be used for people in between instances, as a kind of “holding tank” or a “staging area”).

 

  • If the Performance type is selected, the following settings are available.
    • People and/or Objects … Both People and Objects, People only, or Objects only.
    • Role … select a role; or ‘Any’ for all.
    • Status type … Active, Inactive, or Any.
    • This only applies when the person’s latest, current Position is active within the Module.
    • Default setting is Transfer … When you in-process an existing person into an Instance in the same Module, their current Position from the last Instance is carried forward into the new Instance. If the Supervisor is also imported, it’ll be fully active. Otherwise the Position will remain as a Draft.
    • Instance Thumbnail/Tile display … This sets the defaults for thumbnails/tiles to display on all Instance homepages for all users (these can be changed while viewing the home page).
    • This module should be called … You can use this to override the Organization label setting for this Module throughout the web and mobile apps.
    • Instances should be called … You can use this to override the Organization label setting for Instances in this Module throughout the web and mobile apps.
    • Format for viewing people … Determines the format for viewing people in lists throughout the Module. Default, Full Name or Identifier; Default uses the Organization setting.
    • (Optional) Instance Completion Status … typically at the end of a recruiting or selection Instance, this selects the default status for People who have successfully completed or passed the Instance (course/class). This can help in reporting and research.
    • (Optional) Instance Non-completion Status … typically at the end of a recruiting or selection Instance, this selects the default status for People who have not successfully completed or passed the Instance (course/class). This can help in reporting and research.
    • Current Position transfer … What to do with current Positions when in-processing people into new Instances.
