Person Profile – Insights: Progress

The progress indicator on the profile page lets you quickly see how an individual is performing on the metrics you care about, using your GideonSoft model (Dimensions, Factors, Sub-factors). You can compare a person to the entire population (all Instances/classes in that Module), everyone in their current Instance, or even smaller comparison groups, like the individual Role level (For example, you can compare Wide Receivers only).

The report is based on percentiles, meaning the values shown can range from 0-100. There is an overall percentile, which is made up of all of the Dimensions, and also percentile values for performance within each Dimension. Dimensions and Factors can have different weightings, to allow for scores to have more or less impact on the overall calculations.

Another powerful feature embedded within the progress indicator is the ability to create a conceptual Ideal Athlete or Ideal Operator. By creating these ideals, you can then compare an individual to the ideal performer. This provides an additional lens for insight that is independent of the population data.

To view a person’s progress, simply view their profile. The visualization will appear under Instance Data, and Insights, assuming there is data to be shown and you have been given permission to view it.

Comparison options

There are two drop downs to define the report display (i.e. how the report should calculate percentile values).

• In the first drop down, you select a Role that you would like to compare to the individual’s data.
• In the second drop down, you select:
  • the ideal performance,
  • everyone in the Instance, or
  • everyone in the Module (i.e. across all Instances in the Module).

Once a comparison value is chosen, the report updates to reflect the appropriate values.

• There is an Overall value displayed underneath the person’s photo/avatar.
  • This is a calculated percentile based on the selected comparison.
  • The background color of this area reflects the range/colors defined in the report settings.
• Each bar represents a Dimension, and includes a percentile value.
  • The bars change length and color according to the report settings.
  • Clicking on a bar expands down the Factor values making up the Dimension, along with their percentile values. Depending on how the report is configured, the raw values may be available by clicking on the percentile values.
• If there are other Profiles/Progress Reports (in other Instances), you can navigate to them using the area directly under the Progress Report.
  • There’s a small down arrow next to the Module and Instance names. This drop down displays the other Instances this person is a member of (though they may not have a progress report available in that Instance).
  • Left and right arrows step through the available Profiles/Progress Reports
