The Appraisal Process (CPR)

The Self Appraisal

On the day an appraisal is scheduled, the employee will be sent a notification that their Self Appraisal is ready to be completed, and a notice will appear on their timeline in GideonSoft.

When they start the appraisal, they will navigate through each responsibility and provide a rating and optional comment. The ratings are color based with no other guidance. This is by design and can be used in conversations with their supervisor.

When done with all the ratings, a summary page will show, for the person to review their ratings and comments, and add an overall comment if they wish. The person can navigate back to each responsibility and make changes, and toggle comments on or off via the comment icon.

If at any time the employee needs to stop and continue later, they can close the appraisal, and they’ll be prompted to either discard changes or continue later.

When the employee is ready to submit their appraisal, they’ll be asked to confirm the submission. After submitting, the appraisal will be locked from editing, but can be printed and exported to PDF.

Supervisor Review

After the employee submits the appraisal, a notification will be sent to the supervisor. The supervisor will have a chance to review what the employee has submitted as well as provide feedback (If the employee accesses the appraisal during this time, they’ll only see their responses).

When the supervisor is done and is ready to complete the appraisal, they’ll be prompted to confirm. The supervisor can then set the next appraisal date (optional).

The results of the appraisal process will be displayed under CPR Activity on the person’s position page.
