Report Item: Scatter Plot

Available for the Custom Person and Custom Group reports. Select a score variable for the X-axis and a variable for the Y-axis, and a data point lands on a scatter plot. The Custom Group version displays everyone in a selected role. Add more pairs to fill out the chart even more! Roll over the various visual elements for more detail.

In General Options, select how many columns (up to 4) are used for display.

Scatter Plot Chart Options

• Chart Title … Enter title text here.
• Chart Sub-Title … Enter Sub-Title text here.
• (Custom Group report) Role Filter Options … None, Use report roles or Custom list
• (Custom Group report) Include people from the following roles … Select one or more from the drop down.
• Show Legend … When enabled, select whether to display at the right or the bottom of the chart.
• Tooltip Format … Select None, Series Name, X Value, Y Value, X & Y Value, or Series + Values.
• Label Format … Select None, Series Name, X Value, Y Value, X & Y Value, or Series + Values.
• Text to display when no data exists
• Series … This defines each series to be displayed, and in what order. For each series, the following options are available:
  • Series Name … Enter a simple name
  • X-Axis … Click and select the variable represented on the X axis.
  • Y-Axis … Click and select the variable represented on the Y axis.
  • Symbol … Default will automatically choose one for each series. You can also specify circle, triangle (up or down), square, polygon or cross.
  • Color … Select a color; or let GideonSoft automatically select a color for each series.
• (Custom Group report) Show Series Selector … When enabled, this will display one series at a time. The first series in the list will be automatically selected.
• (Custom Group report) Series Selector Label … The text displayed above the selector drop down.

X-Axis Settings

• Title… Displayed along the bottom (X axis) of the chart.
• Scale …Set a minimum and/or maximum.
• Tick Interval … Determines how many “ticks” are displayed along the X axis (default = 1).
• Show Gridlines … Show or hide gray vertical grid lines.
• Show Vertical Line … Show or hide a single, reference “baseline”. Specify value, width and color.

Y-Axis Settings 

• Title… Displayed along the left side (Y axis) of the chart.
• Scale …Set a minimum and/or maximum.
• Tick Interval … Determines how many “ticks” are displayed along the Y axis (default = 1).
• Show Gridlines … Show or hide gray horizontal grid lines.
• Show Horizontal Line … Show or hide a single, reference “baseline”. Specify value, width and color.
