Report Item: 360 Grid

(Instance level only) This powerful visualization takes up to 5 inputs (score variables) to create a comparison grid of one or more attributes.

  • Each input requires a score variable (with ‘Include in statistics’ on) calculating the Average for the target attribute. A minimum of one score for Self and one for Peer is recommended for useful reporting, with a Supervisor score adding even more insight. If you don’t see the score variable you wish to add, and want to create one, click Create New Variable. See Quick Variable Creator.
  • The marker (score) shows the “average ratings of me”, compared to a range/band of ratings that everyone received.
  • To calculate/display Blind Spots, an additional scripted score must be created calculating the difference between the Self rating and the average of the input. The resulting value is compared to the Blind Spot Threshold. If it exceeds the threshold, it will be indicated. Conceptually, the score would look like (Self Rating – Average Peer Ratings of Me), for example.
  • To display Mixed Opinions, an additional score must be created calculating Assessee Variance (Standard Deviation). This typically references Peer ratings.
  • Label and Color … for each input, you can customize the display.
  • Include people from the following roles … Select one or more Role(s) to narrow the list of available people.
  • Scale … choose whether to show/hide the scale, and what the minimum and maximum values are.
    • Show Bands … toggle the comparison bands on/off
    • Show Peer Agreement … toggle this column on/off
    • Show Blind Spots … toggle this column on/off
    • Band Modifier … This value can expand or narrow the comparison band/range of ratings (i.e. Band Modifier x Standard deviation of ratings everyone received). A value of 1 does not change the band; a value of 0.425 results in the band representing the middle third.
    • Text to display when no data exists (optional)
  • Tick Marks … defines where to display tick marks on the visual.
  • Attributes … for each attribute, the following options are available:
    • Label … displayed on the left
    • What determines ranking? … select a score to reference, and if this person is the highest or lowest for this attribute, and up or down arrow will be displayed next to the attribute label.
    • Link to another report …
      • Report … Select the report from the dropdown.
      • Popup Window Caption … Enter text to be displayed at the top of the box that opens the report.
      • Link Tooltip … Enter text displayed when hovering over the link.
    • Score … select the score to determine placement of the marker.
    • Scale … enter a value to override the max scale value for this attribute.
    • Blind Spot Threshold … the value to compare the blind spot scripted score value against.
    • Mixed Opinions … the value to compare the mixed opinions (Assessee Variance) score against.
