Completing a Check In (CPR)

When a supervisor and employee conduct a Check In, the supervisor must complete it in GideonSoft to save the outcome and notes in the system.

As a supervisor, there are several paths to completing a Check In:

  • If the person has requested a Check In, there will be a notice on your timeline, and you can click Complete This Check In.
  • If the person has requested a Check In, you can go to the person’s position page, and in the CPR Activity, there will be a Check In item you can expand and click Complete This Check In.
  • If you wish to initiate a Check In, go to the person’s profile or position page and (toward the top right) click Check In. Since you are initiating it, you will be asked ‘What would you like to do?’
    • Schedule a new Check In … Let the person know that you need to Check In.
    • Record notes from an unscheduled Check In … If you want to record your notes from an unscheduled Check In.

Items Discussed / Resolved

When completing a Check In, by default, these questions are displayed to help guide your discussion and notes (they are all optional):

  • What do I need to know?
  • Here is what I’m seeing
  • How are you doing on your professional goals?
  • How can I help?

Supervisors can modify their own questions while completing a Check In by clicking the blue pencil icon (towards the top right of the dialog box). The updated set of questions are saved as that supervisor’s default set of questions. The default set of questions for everyone can be customized by your GideonSoft administrator.

Comments

  • Other Comments … These are viewable by both Supervisor and Employee.
    • Click +Add Comment, enter your text and press enter (or click save).
    • Click on an existing comment to edit it.
    • Click the trash can to delete.
  • My notes … These are viewable only by the Supervisor.

The completed Check In is saved, and available for review on your timeline, the person’s timeline, and on the person’s position page, under CPR Activity.
