Survey Item: Dropdown Question Type

This allows the response of a pre-selected choice via drop down. The options when adding choices:

• Choice … the text response that is displayed
• Value … the value stored in the database
• Required … requires a comment to be added if the choice is selected
• Default … displays this choice as selected by default
• N/A … allows handling of a question that may not be applicable to all respondents; enables the choice to be ignored, rather than factored into analysis or reporting.
• Copy as Descriptive … The response will be added as a descriptive for the subject, using what is entered here as the Variable Name. As you begin typing, available existing matches will be displayed for you to select from.
  • If you select an existing variable that has a picklist available, you will be prompted to use that picklist for this question. 
  • Otherwise, separate responses using semi-colons or line breaks. Users will only be able to select one of the available responses.
