Report Design 4: Importing/Copying a Report

You can import a report from another Module or Instance, or copy one from the current Module/Instance. If a report by the same name already exists, GideonSoft will automatically append “ (Copy)” to the newly imported/copied report; it will not overwrite an existing report.

From the “Report Designer” page, click the down arrow on the green “New Report” button and select “Import Report”.

• Select a source Module.
• Select a source Instance.
• Select a source Report.
• Click the blue “Import” button.
• The location and access options will pre-populate with values from the imported report, so you will then see content and design options appropriate for each report type:
  • Custom Person … the Designer tab will be displayed.
  • Group or Report Band … the Report Settings will be displayed.
  • 3rd Party … the Designer tab will be displayed.
• The report’s various options/parameters will be pre-populated, though you should confirm the values are correct before publishing.
• Click “Publish!” to save the report.
