Survey Item: Matrix Rating Question Type

This allows for rating multiple items or people at one time.

• Choices

• • • Choice … the text response that is displayed
    • Description … text displayed as a tooltip over the choice text
    • Value … the value stored in the database
    • Comments Required … requires a comment to be added if the choice is selected
    • Default … displays this choice as selected by default
    • N/A … allows handling of a question that may not be applicable to all respondents; enables the choice to be ignored, rather than factored into analysis or reporting.
  • Single select … when toggled on, allows only a single response per rating; default is off, allowing multiple responses per rating.
  • Add spacing … adds a spacer row for lists over 5 items.
  • Show values on mobile devices … displays the Value for the person responding to the question, along with the Choice text

• Rate People … Choose a role to determine which list of people to show for selection.

• Exclude survey taker from list … So the person doing the rating can not rate themselves.

• Copy as Descriptive … The response will be added as a descriptive for the subject, using what is entered here as the Variable Name. As you begin typing, available existing matches will be displayed for you to select from.
• Rate Items … you can create a list of items to rate, including:
  • Item … the text that is displayed in the survey
  • Description … text displayed as a tooltip over the choice text
  • Variable … (entered here when rating Items instead of people)
  • Specific Response Descriptions …Select a response, and provide a description to appear as a tooltip when hovering over the item on the page. One or more can be added.
  • Rating visibility settings … This functionality provides a way to display the response under certain conditions. You can copy and paste these settings from one response to another:
    • Only show when the taker is in … Select one or more roles.
    • One show targets in … Select one or more roles.
    • Only present this rating to the user when …Choose a Question or Pre-Question, and set the required answer from it to enable this response to be displayed.  
• Summarize Ratings (Average) … Creates an average rating off all items in the matrix (only available in single target sections)
  • Summary Variable name … (see Variable Names and Types for further explanation)
  • Enable Manual Override … Replaces the average with an adjustable rating. An arrow indicates the average and a sliding bar can be used to adjust this overall score.
  • Override Comments Required … Requires an explanation if an adjustment is made.
  • Override Variable Name … The override is stored as a new variable and requires a name (see Variable Names and Types for further explanation)
