Anyone using GideonSoft can set goals and track your own progress. To set a goal for yourself, you can define an action plan, which contains commitments, or the behaviors or steps to take to achieve the goal. These goals and commitments can be shared publicly among peers within GideonSoft (so they can see and even copy what you’ve created).
Tap You (the Person icon) at the bottom of the app, and then My Goals.
- If you have one or more active goals, the ‘Record Your Progress’ screen will be shown, encouraging you to record progress.
- If you do not have any active goals in GideonSoft, you’ll be presented with ways to add one: Goal Worksheet, Import Goal from Library and Add New Goal (Advanced) … (see Setting Goals on a Mobile Device (app)).
Record Progress
When you first see the ‘Record Your Progress’ page, the current day and the previous two days are displayed, including all active, available Commitments.
- For each Goal, the Goal is displayed first, in yellow, and then commitments associated with the goal are displayed in white. Goal input is the data used to determine progress.
- For each Commitment, the linked Goal(s) is specified.
- For every day of the week, you’ll see one of the following:
- Recorded progress … you can change or delete these entries if necessary
- A down arrow, dash, or time value to indicate progress needs to be entered
- Blank, indicating nothing can be recorded yet (i.e. future dates)
- If a Commitment has been linked to multiple Goals, that will be noted. You only need to record that action once and that progress will be reflected in all linked Goals.
- You can change to a different week by using the left and right arrows surrounding “Week of …”, or by clicking “(change)” and pick from the calendar date tool.
- When recording progress, there are multiple entry types:
- Number
- 3 point rating scale … select from ‘smiley’ face icons (green/happy, yellow/neutral, red/sad)
- Time … specify hours, minutes, seconds (whatever format is presented)
- Yes or No … select a green check or red X
- Once you provide a response, it is automatically saved.
- Once you’ve begun recording progress on a Commitment, that Commitment cannot be deleted.
Goals
Completed Goals
This displays completed achievements, and indicates whether or not they’ve been sent to a supervisor for verification. Once a Goal has been verified by a supervisor, if they’ve left a comment, that will also be indicated here.
Paused Goals
This lists goals that have no recorded activity in a month or more.
Dropped Goals
These are Goals that are no longer being pursued.
You can always add, edit or drop a Goal for whatever reason, from the My Goals page as well.
