Using GideonSoft: Navigation
After signing in, by default you will see your Feed and Profile information. The Feed displays survey notifications, CPR items, survey questions, observation notifications, goal reminders, and more. The Profile includes:
- Timeline … Provides a chronological view of all items you have access to, including a direct link to the current instance.
- CPR View … For people in defined job/position roles, the CPR view contains a link to the position and displays your Position’s responsibilities. You can also request a Check In from here.
- Goals View … Shows active goals with links to both the main goals page and individual goal pages.
For administrators, you can also switch between the ‘My Profile View’ (described above) and the ‘Dashboard View’. The Dashboard View offers a more data-centric perspective, displaying badges and dashboards available at each level:
- Organization & Module Levels … Viewers can access all dashboards and badges granted to them.
- Instance Level … Presents the previous, familiar Instance home page people tiles, including status buttons and filtering controls.
You can save your preferred view by clicking the pin icon next to the view dropdown. You can customize your default experience independently for each Organization, Module, or Instance. For example, you can pin the ‘Dashboard View’ for Module A while retaining the’ My Profile’ View as the default for Module B.
Header
Throughout the app, your user type will determine what content is displayed for you when you sign in (i.e. basic user vs. administrative user), so your screen may look slightly different. But, everyone can use the top header bar, which includes:

- Location in the Org … This is where you are currently working in the Org. You can use the 3-bar icon in the top left to access a drop down to jump to other locations in the Org of which you’re a member.
- Home button … This navigates back to the Home page of the current level (Org, Module or Instance).
- Cross-feature search … search surveys, observations, spreadsheets, people, reports, all in one place!
- Notifications … alerts appear here, especially critical for admins! (depends on your subscription settings)
- Broadcast … To send a message or question to others in the Instance.
- Links to access more features … wherever you are in your organization, this drop down provides access to all parts of GideonSoft: observations, surveys, reports & their designers; people; spreadsheets; schedule; all the data tools; and your personal settings and information!
- My Profile & My Settings … access to your profile and settings (i.e. your photo, email, password, subscriptions, social networks); or sign out; or read all the “fine print”. (See Person Profile and My Settings)
The Instance Homepage
This is where most of the action takes place. If you’re a member of more than one Instance, you can pin your preferred one to return there when you sign back in. Use Quick Links to customize your own set of links to quickly get to your most commonly used parts of GideonSoft (See Using GideonSoft: Quick Links).
My Profile View
Including your Feed, Timeline and available observations, surveys, reports and objectives.

As an assessor, you can see thumbnails of people in the Instance (with color-coded status; white background for active, gray background for inactive).
