Using GideonSoft on a Mobile Device (app)

Setting up your GideonSoft app

  1. Go to the App Store and search for the free “GideonSoft” app (with the GideonSoft logo), and install it.
  2. Enter your organization’s setup code. If you do not know this code, ask your administrator.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Tap on the Instance that you would like to access.

 

Using the GideonSoft App

The app is organized using five main screens. You can access these screens using buttons/icons at the bottom of the screen:

  • Home … This is the default starting screen, which includes announcements and other functionality:
    • In the top left, the current Instance is displayed. You can change to a different one via a dropdown.
    • In the top right, there are 2 icons.
      • Broadcast messages (megaphone icon) … Send messages or questions to other GideonSoft users in your organization:
        • Select ‘Send a message’ or ‘Ask a question’.
        • Select an Instance (if you’re a member of more than one).
        • Select a Role to filter the list of recipients.
        • Select one or more recipient(s).
        • Type your message/question.
        • If asking a question, enter response options, and set expiration and reminder options.
        • Tap “Post!”.
        • The notice for recipients of these messages will be displayed on the GideonSoft timeline feed, and a notification will be delivered to each recipient in the GideonSoft app and via email (keep in mind the recipient may/may not have those notifications enabled).
      • Refresh/reload … tap to reload data and content.
    • Search/filter timeline items … You can enter text to search for, and filter (using the 3 filter icon) item types. You can also tap ‘Mark All as Read’.
  • Observations … Record behavioral observations. See Recording Observations on a Mobile Device (app)
  • Surveys … Complete a survey or spreadsheet. See Completing Surveys and Spreadsheets on a Mobile Device (app)
  • People … View a list of all the people in the Instance. You can search and filter people, and organize people into Lineups. See People and Lineups on a Mobile Device (app)
  • You … The following items may be available on this page.
    • Add/change your profile image. Tap the existing image to add/change/delete.
    • My Goals … Add new goals, or manage goals you’ve set. See Recording Goal Progress on a Mobile Device (app)
    • Check In … Request a Check In for your CPR position.
    • Contact … Send an email to GideonSoft.
    • About … View app details/version information
    • Full Site … View the full GideonSoft website (useful for viewing reports).
    • Theme … Tapping this cycles through the available themes: Classic, Light and Dark.
    • Sign Out.
