Setting Goals

Begin by navigating to your “My Goals” page.

Creating a Goal

If no goals have already been created, click “Begin”.

  • This takes you to the Goal Worksheet.

If one or more goals have been created, under the “Goals” heading, click the “Add New Goal” tab. A dropdown with two options will appear:

  • Add Goal Using Worksheet … Allows quick and easy goal setting. See steps below.
  • Add New Goal (advanced) … Provides additional goal setting options. See Add New Goal (Advanced).

 

About the Goal Worksheet

The Goal Worksheet is a tool for users to create personal development plans which can be shared with supervisors for review. The worksheet provides an overview of all active Goals and Commitments, allows users to easily create new Goals and Commitments, make Goals public (they are private by default), and create customized reminders.

 

Add Goal Using Worksheet

The Goal Worksheet lists all your goals and the commitments in each goal’s action plan.

  • To create a new goal…
    • Click on “+ Add New Goal”
    • Provide a name. Press Enter/Return (or click the Save icon).
    • (Optional) For additional customization, click the pencil icon on the far right of the corresponding row. See Add New Goal (Advanced).
  • To add commitments to a goal’s plan…
    • Click on “+ Add New Commitment”.
    • Provide a name. Press Enter/Return (or click the Save icon).
    • (Optional) For additional customization, click the pencil icon on the far right of the corresponding row. See Add New Goal (Advanced).
  • Enter a Completion Date … (optional)
  • Click Save.
  • Send For Review … (optional) If you have an assigned supervisor, clicking this will notify them and request their feedback and approval.
  • Reminders … (optional) This is another way to access Plan Settings.

You now have a complete goal plan. You can download a PDF of the plan for reference or “offline” use, via the Download Worksheet button.

 

Plan Settings

In Plan Details, click the gear icon to access Plan Settings.

Make your goals public by default? … This is on, so that all new goals you create will be made public. Making a goal public allows admins and people with 360-relationship to view goal progress.

Enable Reminders … GideonSoft can remind you on a daily or weekly basis.
