To complete a Survey or fill out a Spreadsheet, tap Surveys (the document icon) at the bottom of the app. You will see a list of all the Surveys and Spreadsheets that you are able to fill out. Administrators can also schedule a Survey to appear on the Timeline, so that when you first sign in to GideonSoft, there will be a notice with a link directly to the Survey.
Completing a Survey
Tap the name of the Survey to open it. Selecting a survey cluster will display the surveys included in the cluster. You can return to the main list by clicking the Back button. Selecting a survey will either launch the survey directly, or if a target selection is required, present a list of available targets. This allows you to see how many targets are left to complete (in the case of a single-session survey).
There are many options available for surveys, so you may see one or more of the following:
- For some Surveys, you may be able to select multiple individuals to complete the Surveys consecutively.
- You may be asked whether to enable Kiosk Mode. If enabled, you can set a password required for users to exit the survey. After a user submits a survey, it is then repeated so another user can be selected.
- You may be prompted to select the questions you wish to answer in the session. (Required questions can not be unselected).
Survey Navigation
- Use the arrows at the bottom to navigate between pages. Required questions are indicated by a red vertical bar. You may not progress to the next page or submit the Survey until the required ratings and/or comments are filled out.
- If configured as a Forward-only survey, a notice will be displayed, explaining you won’t be able to go back or skip questions.
- To view rating response values/descriptions (anchors), tap the ellipses next to the rating option, or the scale at the top of the screen.
- For most Surveys, you can tap on the numbers at the bottom of the Survey in order to access the table of contents. From this screen, you will be able to jump to any question in the Survey.
- Required questions that have not been filled out are displayed in red text.
- Questions that are not required, but have not been filled out are displayed in black text.
- All completed questions are displayed in green text.
When you see ‘Ready to submit!’, click the green Submit button at the bottom to submit your completed survey (i.e. upload it to the server). Upon completion, you’ll return to the Surveys screen.
You can view or edit a completed Survey by clicking on the history icon at the top right, above the list of Surveys. You can also refresh/reload the list of available surveys and spreadsheets via the refresh icon.
Filling Out a Spreadsheet
Tap the name of the spreadsheet to open it.
- The columns of the spreadsheet will be displayed one per page. Use the arrows at the bottom to navigate between columns in the spreadsheet.
- Tap on the numbers at the bottom of the screen to display a list of all columns. From this screen, you will be able to jump to any column in the spreadsheet.
- Columns that are not required, but have not been filled out are displayed in black text.
- All completed/viewed columns are displayed in green with a check mark.
- When you’re done entering information, you can tap ‘Submit Survey’ since, in the mobile app, spreadsheets are handled like surveys. (You’ll have the opportunity to review in the next step).
On the last step (where “Ready to submit!” is displayed), tap the green Submit button at the bottom.
