You may need to transfer data to/from external systems or move data from one installation of GideonSoft to another (e.g. in a standalone system or multiple closed networks). This functionality moves all the files and data needed to recreate an Instance.
At the Module level, the Instance Backup utility can be used to accomplish this, as a kind of ‘fall back’ approach. The GideonSoft server version, as well as configuration, of the destination Module must match the source Module/backup before you attempt to restore/import. Because of this, working at the Instance level by exporting data, rosters and templates is typically a more consistent, ‘bullet proof’ method.
Export Backup
Select an Instance to back up, click “Export Backup”. A .gd file will be generated. A good practice is to include the GideonSoft server version (from this source installation) in the name of the file.
Import Backup
Click the ‘Upload a class backup’ box (or drag and drop your .gd file onto it).
